Having bad credit is no fun, but fortunately, there are
things you can do to improve your credit and to have a better, brighter
financial future. One thing you can do is stop using your credit cards—or at
least stop using them as much. Try paying down your balances as much as you
can; many people find making small weekly payments, as opposed to big monthly
ones, to be a lot easier.
You should also make a conscious effort to make all of your
payments—be they rent payments, credit card payments, or anything in between—on
time! The more on-time payments you make, the more your credit will improve.

Another thing you can do is get credit on a big purchase,
such as a car. You should only do this, however, if you’re going to be able to
make your payments on time. If you do, your credit can drastically improve in
just a matter of months!
